Braddock Road Youth Club is proud of our rich history in the Fairfax community since 1966. With growing numbers in the area, BRYC was created by a small group of parents to ensure every child was offered an opportunity to be involved in group sports activities. Since the first game in 1966, BRYC has brought group sports to an estimated 175,000 children. In everything we do, our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for the children to grow and learn as individuals and as a team. BRYC continues to be a vital part of the community, bringing parents and children in the areas of Fairfax, Annandale, Burke, and Springfield together in sport. We strive towards being the best sports program in the Northern Virginia region and take great pride in our almost fifty year history of working for the children.
In 2006, BRYC began a major investment in synthetic turf fields, beginning with a multi-sport rectangular field at Wakefield Park. BRYC was proud to lead the effort in forming a partnership with the Fairfax Women’s Soccer Association and the Northern Virginia Soccer League, putting together a successful proposal for funding and fair scheduling that has proved to be a model for the Northern Virginia area. More recently, in the summer of 2012, BRYC has partnered with Fairfax County and Robinson Secondary School (among others) to install synthetic turf in Robinson’s Coffey Stadium and a second field large enough to accommodate two simultaneous small-sided soccer matches. These two beautiful new fields were ready for the start of the fall season for both the Robinson Rams and BRYC football and soccer activities. In 2013, BRYC will team with longterm partners Woodson High School and Fairfax Women’s Soccer Association to build two new synthetic turf fields at Woodson.
BRYC’s continued goal of excellence has driven us to introduce more sporting options. In recent years we have added Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Rugby to our well established programs in Soccer, Football, Basketball and Softball, and have reinitiated our Lacrosse program. We invite you to experience the BRYC difference by registering your children in one of the many available sports activities, and, just as important, by volunteering your time and energy to the organization which relies on the commitment of hundreds of unpaid volunteers to continue its programs for the benefit of the children.
