BRYC Kicks Off Lacrosse Program
U-11 Boys Go Undefeated To Take Fall Brawl Championship

On Saturday, November 17, The BRYC U-11 lacrosse team, coached by Howard Sloan and Bruce Caslow, won their division of The Fairfax Fall Brawl Tournament held at Robinson Secondary School, in the eleventh year the tournament has been in existence.  BRYC also had a U-15 team participating in the tournament.  They also had a strong performance, finishing with a record of 4-2.  Next year we hope to field teams in the U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15 divisions.

For the U-11 team it was a remarkable achievement.  The BRYC boys beat Facquier, The Algonkian Tribe, the Bethesda Thunder and finally McLean to take the top seed in their pool. They went on to beat another Bethesda team, The Warriors, in their semi-final game, setting up a final match between the only two undefeated teams in the tournament.  BRYC went on to win the championship contest, a haard-fought 4-3 victory over Western Loudoun. The winning goal was scored by Scotty Sloan (the son of Coach Howard Sloan), his second of the game.

Congratulations to our BRYC U-11 team on winning The Championship and to our U-15 team for a solid showing in this highly competitive lacrosse venue.  Don’t forget to visit our website at www.bryclacrosse.org and register your children for our upcoming spring season.
